Privacy Policy

Your conversations never leave your phone.

EQScore was built privacy-first. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what data the app touches and what it does with it. The short answer: nothing leaves your device.

Effective date · June 3, 2026 Last updated · June 11, 2026

1. The short version

  • Everything runs on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Nothing is uploaded.
  • No account. No login. No password.
  • No third-party SDKs, no analytics, no ad networks, no tracking.
  • Your transcripts, scores, heart-rate data, face metrics, and coach conversations live only in your iPhone's local storage.
  • Deleting the app permanently deletes everything.

2. Who runs EQScore

EQScore is built and operated by SNE INTERACTIVE LLC ("we", "us"). We are a U.S. limited liability company. EQScore™ is our trademark.

3. What data EQScore uses — and where it lives

EQScore touches the following kinds of data, all of which stay on your device:

Data Why we use it Where it lives
Microphone audio (during a Session or Mirror Mode) Capture conversations for analysis. A Session produces an on-device transcript plus live voice metrics (volume, pace) for in-the-moment feedback. iPhone local storage. Audio files are written to your app's sandbox; you can delete them by deleting the session in History.
Speech transcripts Score five EQ dimensions and pull verbatim quotes for evidence. iPhone local storage (JSON file in app sandbox).
Apple Watch heart rate Detect live tension transitions; correlate with the conversation. Streamed live from the Watch / read from Apple HealthKit. The session's BPM trace is stored in the app's local session history on your iPhone. Watch sessions also save a deletable "EQScore" workout + Mindful Minutes entry into Apple Health (see section 6).
Face landmarks (Mirror Mode only) Compute smile / brow / gaze / blink metrics for multimodal scoring. Processed frame-by-frame in memory. Raw video is never stored and never leaves the device.
Voice fingerprint (Voice tab) Recognise your voice in multi-speaker conversations. iPhone UserDefaults — a small JSON of pitch / pace / energy statistics. No raw audio.
EQ Coach chat history Continuity within a coaching conversation. In-memory only by default. Lost on app close. Not persisted to disk.
Live session signals (tension level, voice metrics) In-the-moment feedback during a Session and the end-of-session debrief. iPhone local storage as part of your session history.
App preferences (sensitivity, context, feedback channels, onboarding state) Remember your settings. iPhone UserDefaults — local only.

4. Where the processing happens

100% on your device. EQScore uses:

  • Apple Speech for on-device transcription
  • Apple's Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence) for EQ scoring and the EQ Coach
  • Apple Vision for face landmark extraction (Mirror Mode)
  • Apple HealthKit for heart rate
  • Apple WatchConnectivity for Watch ↔ iPhone messaging

EQScore makes zero network calls to any EQScore-controlled server. There is no server. We do not operate cloud infrastructure for the app. The only network calls iOS itself may make on EQScore's behalf are standard Apple system services (e.g., Apple Intelligence model downloads, App Store updates) — none of which carry your conversation data.

5. Who we share data with

Nobody. Because nothing leaves your device, there is nothing to share. We do not sell, rent, broker, license, or otherwise transfer your data to any third party. There are no advertising partners, no analytics partners, and no data brokers in the picture.

6. Apple Health & Apple Watch

EQScore reads heart rate and resting heart rate from Apple HealthKit to detect tension during a session. The per-session BPM trace shown in your results is kept on your iPhone as part of that session's local record — and, like everything else, it never leaves the device.

When you start a Session with Watch support, the EQScore Watch app starts an HKWorkoutSession so the Watch can sample heart rate continuously (a running workout is the only way watchOS allows continuous heart-rate streaming). The workout ends automatically when the session ends, and you can also end it manually from the Watch.

What EQScore writes to Apple Health — two things, both created by you and both deletable: the brief "EQScore" workout recorded by the Watch during a session (Apple counts active workout minutes toward your Exercise ring), and a matching Mindful Minutes entry. You can view or delete any of them in the Fitness or Health app at any time. Nothing else is ever written, and your Health data is never transmitted anywhere.

Prefer zero Health writes? Turn off Use Apple Watch heart rate in the Session settings (gear icon) — sessions then run audio-only.

7. Camera, Mirror Mode & face data

Mirror Mode uses the front camera to read facial cues (smile intensity, brow furrow, eye contact, blink rate). The camera stream is processed live by Apple's on-device Vision framework, frame-by-frame in memory. No video, no still images, and no raw face data are ever saved or transmitted. Camera frames are discarded immediately after each frame's landmarks are measured. EQScore never creates a faceprint, facial-recognition template, or any data that could identify a face — only non-identifying numeric expression metrics (e.g., "smile intensity: 0.62").

Use: these derived metrics are used solely to give you feedback on your own practice session — they contribute to your multimodal EQ score and the expression summary you see in your results. They are never used for identification, advertising, or any other purpose.

Sharing: face data — raw or derived — is never shared with anyone. Not with us, not with any third party. It never leaves your iPhone.

Storage & retention: raw camera frames are processed in memory and discarded within milliseconds; they are never written to disk. The derived numeric metrics are stored only in the EQScore app's local storage on your iPhone, as part of that session's record, and are retained until you delete them — delete the individual session in History, or delete the EQScore app to remove everything. There is no server copy, because there is no server.

You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. Mirror Mode simply won't open without it.

8. Apple Intelligence & Foundation Models

EQScore uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models for EQ scoring and the EQ Coach chat. These models run locally on your iPhone. Your transcripts, voice metrics, and heart-rate context are sent only to Apple's on-device language model — which runs inside the iOS sandbox and is governed by Apple's own privacy guarantees. Apple does not retain prompts processed by the on-device model, and neither do we.

EQScore uses no third-party AI services. No conversation, transcript, face metric, heart-rate reading, or any other personal data is ever sent to any cloud AI provider (such as OpenAI, Google, or anyone else) — or to any cloud at all. The only AI in EQScore is Apple's Foundation Models framework, Apple Speech, and Apple Vision, all executing on your device. The "AI" in our domain name (eqscore.ai) refers to the app's on-device intelligence, not to any external service.

If Apple Intelligence is unavailable on your device, EQScore falls back to a lightweight heuristic analyzer built into the app. The fallback is also fully on-device.

9. Analytics & cookies

The EQScore app contains no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party SDKs.

The EQScore website (this page) uses Google Analytics to count anonymous, aggregated visits to public pages so we can understand which information is useful to readers. Google Analytics may use cookies. No personal information is sent. You can opt out by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser or by using a content blocker — the site works either way.

10. Children

EQScore is rated 9+ but is designed for adults reflecting on their own communication. We do not knowingly collect any data about children, because we do not collect any data at all. The app may be used by minors with the consent of their parent or guardian.

11. Your rights & how to delete everything

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing to request, port, or delete from our systems — there are no systems. To delete your local EQScore data:

  1. In the app: open History, swipe to delete any session, or clear all sessions.
  2. In the app: open VoiceReset Voice Profile to clear your voice fingerprint.
  3. To fully reset: delete the EQScore app from your iPhone. iOS removes the app's sandbox, taking every local file, transcript, score, voice profile, and preference with it.
  4. Apple Watch heart-rate data stays in your Apple Health database — to remove it, open the Health app on iPhone and edit or delete those entries directly.

12. Changes to this policy

If we materially change how the app handles data, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will also be flagged in the in-app onboarding on the next version update. If you keep using EQScore after a change, you accept the new policy.
